The Program regrets we are unable to provide any financial support for either airfare or lodging, which is entirely the responsibility of those participating in or attending the conference. Every effort has been made to provide current information.

Flights and Getting Here

If you are looking for flights, the Amadeus Search Engine is very useful. If you are flying from Europe, we recommend trying to get to LA on a direct flight out of Europe (try to avoid connecting flights in the US, since the Immigration and Customs Control can be rather slow, and you may miss your connection).

From LAX, a taxi to the part of town near UCLA (called “Westwood” or “Westwood Village”) should cost you somewhere between $40–60. Ride-share services like Lyft and Uber are also a possibility, and they may have competitive rates for travel to Westwood. None of these, however, are available for pickup in front of terminals; instead, you will have to go to the LAXit area (https://www.flylax.com/lax-it), either on foot (most convenient from Terminals 1, 2, 7, 8; it’s adjacent to Terminal 1) or by taking a free shuttle (the recommended method from other terminals). LAXit shuttle bus stops are located right outside terminals and are marked by lime-green signs. If you are taking a Lyft or Uber, you will not be able to book a ride until you get to the LAXit area, so do not try to do this while you are still at the terminal.

Venue

The Conference Venue is Royce Hall, UCLA.

The pre-conference Happy Hour and the Conference Dinner will take place in Westwood.

On-Campus Accommodation

All of the Hotels below are located directly south of campus, within a 20–30 minute walk from the Conference Venue (Royce Hall, UCLA). Our visitors frequently stay at the Claremont or at the Hilgard House (mostly for the location).
